America must modify its immigration rules to prevent Muslims who are not fully screened from entering the country, otherwise we will “see much more of what happened in Paris,” said Rev. Franklin Graham, who added that “Islam is not a peaceful religion” contrary to what Presidents Bush and Obama have claimed.

“That is just not true,” said the reverend. “Our president and our politicians in Washington need to wake up before it’s too late.”

Franklin Graham, an evangelical minister and the son of world-renowned evangelist Billy Graham, made his remarks in a Nov. 14 post on Facebook, one day after the Islamic State massacres in Paris, France.

“I’ve said this before, and many people criticized me for saying it,” said Franklin Graham.  “We must reform our immigration policies in the United States. We cannot allow Muslim immigrants to come across our borders unchecked while we are fighting this war on terror.”

“If we continue to allow Muslim immigration, we'll see much more of what happened in Paris—it’s on our doorstep,” he said.  “France and Europe are being overrun by young Muslim men from the Middle East, and they do not know their backgrounds or their motives and intentions.”

“Islam is not a peaceful religion as George W. Bush told us and as President Barack Obama has said—that is just not true,” said Rev. Graham.  “Our president and our politicians in Washington need to wake up before it’s too late.”

“This is not the time to be politically correct,” he continued. “Our nation’s security is at stake. The future of our children and grandchildren is at stake.”

“We should not allow any political or religious group who want to destroy us and our way of life to immigrate to this country,” said Rev. Graham.  “Right now let us continue to pray for the victims and family members of the #‎parisattacks.”

In the attacks in Paris on Nov. 13, Islamic State jihadists targeted people in five different locations of the city and killed at least 129 people; 352 people were wounded. French President Francois Hollande said the attacks were “an act of war” carried out by the Islamic State.

The violence was the worst to hit Paris since the Nazis invaded during World War II.

Franklin Graham is the president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and he also oversees the international Christian aid group Samaritan’s Purse.  Graham, 63, is married and has five children. His father, Billy Graham, is 97.

Over the years, Billy Graham preached to more than 215 million people in 185 different countries, and he wrote 31 books. For more than 50 years he has regularly been ranked among one of the most admired people in the world.
