Commenting on a declassified intelligence memo that proves the FBI and Justice Department used a salacious anti-Trump dossier -- paid for by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committe -- to spy on Trump campaign advisers in the 2016 presidential race, Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton remarked that the fabricated dossier "is central to the Russian collussion theory" and that there are reports now that President Barack Obama "was given the dossier."

Now we need to ask, said Fitton, "What did he [Obama] know and why hasn't he been questioned about it?"

The so-called Trump-Russia dossier was compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele, who was paid for this effort by the Clinton campaign and the DNC via the law firm Perkins Cole and the left-wing research group Fusion GPS. The document has zero credibility and even then-FBI Driector James Comey testified before the Senate in 2017 that the dossier was "salacious and unverified."

Steele himself, according to the declassified intelligence memo, was staunchly anti-Trump and, as DOJ official Bruce Ohr related, Steele "was desperate that Donald Trump not get elected and was passionate about him not being president."

The intelligence memo confirms that the FBI used the unverifiable anti-Tump dossier to get the FISA court to grant warrants for the Bureau to spy on Trump adviser Carter Page in 2016. As then-Deputy FBI Director Andrew MCabe, a hardcore leftist, told Congress under oath, "no surveillance warrant would have been sought from the FISC [court] without the Steele dossier information."

However, when the warrant applications were presented to the FISA court, the political background of the dossier, particularly who paid for it, was not presented by the FBI to the judge. that information was held back, according to the intelligence memo.

During the Feb. 12 edition of Hannity, host Sean Hannity asked, “Will we ever get a look at how bad this FISA memo was? Or the arguments made before the court? Is that something maybe in redacted form we could look at, to see what they purposely did not tell this judge that they knew at the time?"

Judicial Watch's Tom Fitton said, “We sued for them, and there are these is dueling memos. Democrats will have their memo eventually come out. Why is it we're relying on this summary document? Let's get the underlying information. I know Nunes has asked for it. We've sued in court for it.

"I told the White House that they should take this approach of extreme transparency on Russia-gate. It does nothing to protect the president from this illicit activity against him and it protects people like Barack Obama and Justice Department and FBI that was misused to target President Trump."

Fitton continued, "You know, Barack Obama -- the dossier is central to the Russian collusion theory. It's collapsing and it was central to the Russian collusion theory. We have reports today, quickly Sean, Barack Obama was given the dossier."

"He was given the dossier," said Fitton.  "What did he know and why hasn't he been questioned about it?"
