Benghazi Victim's Widow: Ty's Death 'Handled With Disrespect and Negligence' by Clinton and Obama

Dr. Dorothy Narvaez-Woods, the Gold Star widow of Tyrone Woods who was murdered in the 2012 attack on the U.S. compound in Benghazi, Libya, said that then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton did not send military help during the attack, and that Woods’ death “was ultimately handled with disrespect and negligence by both Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration.”

Dorothy Woods, DDS, is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the mother of Kai Woods, the son she and her late husband Tyrone Woods had together. In an interview with talk-radio host Hugh Hewitt on Aug. 4, Mrs. Woods talked about her experience with the military and particularly the Navy SEALS – Tyrone Woods was a Navy SEAL and, at the time of his death, working security as a contractor for the CIA, along with fellow SEAL Glen Doherty. 

“Men and women who serve our country because they volunteer, you know, they expect, and we at the very least should expect, that we will take care of them,” said Dorothy Woods.  “We say we take care of their families at home, but when they are serving us in dangerous places, and they need help, we expect to go help them.”

“They expect us to go help them,” she said. “This instance, she [Hillary Clinton] did not. And if she did this to these guys, she’s going to do it again.”

“She did this to me, and I can say that I take it personally,” said Woods. “And I tell people, you know, I am a woman, I am a mother, I’m an immigrant, I’m a veteran. I am her demographic. She did this to me. She will do this again. I believe that. That is my personal opinion.”

Shortly thereafter in the interview, Dorothy Woods explained that Secretary Clinton and the Obama administration treated her husband’s death with disrespect and negligence.

“[H]ad it not been for the Ambassador dying, and how this, how Benghazi has fallen out, you wouldn’t hear from me,” Woods told Hewitt.  “You wouldn’t know who I am. I truly believe the difference between my situation and theirs [God Star father Kzhir Khan] is that Hillary Clinton was directly involved in the events leading up to Ty’s death, and that the Obama administration had a hand in those events as well.”

“I want, that is what I’m here for,” she said.  “You know, I am not out talking because Ty died. You know, we all know what happened. I’m not refuting those facts.”

“I am here because of the way that Ty’s death was handled, the way it was narrated, the way it was ultimately handled with disrespect and negligence by both Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration,” said Dorothy Woods.

“Like you said, I’m a veteran,” she continued. “You know, I’ve deployed. I understand that we are at war, and that no loss, the loss of Ty is no less or greater than anyone else. But that’s not why I’m here. I’m not here for the sacrifice. I’m here because of the way it was treated afterwards.”

During the radical Islamist attack on the U.S. compound in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012, four Americans were killed: Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, Diplomat Sean Smith, former Navy SEAL Glen Doherty, and former Navy SEAL Tyron Woods. (Doherty and Woods were working as security officials under contract.)
