Charles Woods, the father of Tyrone Woods who was murdered in the 2012 attack on the U.S. compound in Benghazi, Libya – an attack the Obama administration falsely blamed on an anti-Muslim video – said that Hillary Clinton “should apologize” to the American people and to the Banghazi victims’ families, particularly for calling the family members “liars.”
On CNN’s Newsroom on Aug. 2, host Carol Costello repeatedly asked Charles Woods if he thought Donald Trump should apologize for remarks he made about Gold Star parent Khizr Khan.
Charles Woods said he was not familiar with the details of those remarks and instead said, “I know who should apologize and that would be Hillary Clinton, for lying to the American families who lost their loved ones, as well as to the American public.”
“She hasn’t apologized for that yet,” said Woods. “In fact, she’s even doubled down and called us liars, which is not appropriate, not at all.”
A few seconds later in the interview, Woods said, “You know, when Hillary Clinton on several occasions has called Benghazi victims’ families liars, should she apologize for that?”
CNN’s Carol Costell did not answer the question but said, “Thank you, sir, for your time this morning. I do appreciate you stopping by.”
The interview then ended.
Four Americans were killed in the attack in Benghazi: Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, Diplomat Sean Smith, and CIA security personnel Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods, both of whom were Navy SEALs. Before they were murdered by radical Islamists, Doherty and Woods reportedly killed at 60 of the terrorists attacking the Benghazi compound.
