Golden State Warrior guard Stephen Curry banked in the longest field goal of the season, and the longest shot of his career, as the clock was winding down in the first quarter of Monday night’s game against the San Antonio Spurs.

As reported by ESPN, the 61-foot 3-pointer that Stephen Curry shot and made “is the longest shot anyone in the league has hit all season, according to ESPN Stats & Information research.”

And though, reported NBA.com, Stephen Curry had “missed all seven of his shots and was scoreless headed into the final seconds of the frame … he still had a Steph Gonna Steph moment to end the quarter in a 25-25 tie.”

“Curry received a pass from teammate Shaun Livingston, took a quick dribble and then heaved the shot up from the opposite 3-point line,” reported ESPN. “It hit off the backboard and went in, and the Warriors bench went nuts Curry ran toward the bench to celebrate as AT&T Center was left in stunned silence for a moment.”

The Warriors would go on to lose the game against the Spurs by a score of 111-105. Curry led the warriors with 25 points and 8 assists in the loss.
