In a February 2, 2016 blog posted on Patheos, Fox News contributor and actress Stacey Dash responded to a barrage of hate-filled tweets directed at her following her critical comments of BET, the BET Awards, the Image Awards and Black History Month saying, “I’m not ashamed that I’m black.”

A quick look at her Twitter feed, Stacey Dash claims, will reveal tweets like these:

“Why do you hate the skin you’re in?

“You’re a whore dealing with self-hatred.

“Coon.

“Let’s trade Stacey Dash for Rachel Dolezal.”

But Ms. Dash did not let these hateful tweets deter her from spreading her message.

“I don’t hate Twitter — I love it,” Ms. Dash explained in the blog. “And I love hearing from all of you … well, most of you … because it’s important to talk about these issues of race.”

She then went on to set the record straight saying,

“I’m not ashamed that I’m black.

“I’m half Black and half Mexican.

“I don’t hate my skin.”

Stacey Dash makes equally clear what she does hate:

“What I hate is the stereotypes that so-called “black entertainment” has created.  I hate they say that I am not ‘black enough’ once I open my mouth.  I hate that liberals make the rules – white liberals are the most racist people I’ve ever met.  They demand that black people act a certain way, vote a certain way, and think a certain way.”

Describing what she thinks the problem some producers have with her, Ms. Dash says she has been told that she wasn’t “black enough.”

But why would a producer say that to a black female actress?

“Because they have a stereotypical view of black people that they want to portray to the world,” explains Ms. Dash. “I don’t fit the mold.”
