On his nationally syndicated radio talk show “The Mark Levin Show” on Monday, host Mark Levin lamented that we are witnessing a “horrific moment in American history.”
“This is a horrific moment in American history,” stated Mark Levin. “The same party that brought us slavery; the same party that brought us segregation, Jim Crow, poll taxes, literacy tests; the same party that brought us that is now bringing us anti-Semitism.”
Mark Levin’s remarks came after Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) spoke at a press conference in St. Paul, Minn. on Monday with Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), Omar questioning whether Israel is an ally or a democracy and saying that U.S. aid to Israel must be linked to a Palestinian issue. As reported by CNSNews.com, Rep. Omar said about Israel that “denying a visit to duly-elected members of Congress is not consistent with being an ally, and denying millions of people freedom of movement or expression or self-determination is not consistent with being a democracy.”
“House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif),” according to CNSNews.com, “issued a statement on Thursday, after the government of Israel decided not to allow Rep. Ilhan Omar (D.-Minn.) and Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D.-Mich.) enter their country as a congressional delegation, saying that this was a ‘sign of weakness’ by Israel.”
Below is a transcript, in pertinent part, of Mark Levin’s comments from his show on Monday:
“Now, I know this is an inconvenient history, and I know Tlaib is worried about her grandmother, who she now refuses to see and hasn’t seen for over a decade. I know, they had their little press conference today, and really, people were— It’s so sad.
“This is a horrific moment in American history. The same party that brought us slavery; the same party that brought us segregation, Jim Crow, poll taxes, literacy tests; the same party that brought us that, is now bringing us anti-Semitism – these bigots – while they call the president of the United States, the greatest ally Israel has had in the oval office, a racist.
“The party that was born out of racism, the party that was born out of hatred for black people now claims that the president of the United States, who’s never done anything to any minority, is a racist.”
