During the opening monologue of his show Thursday, nationally syndicated radio talk show host and author Mark Levin asked his radio audience, “Is it still America?”
“I said, ‘Hello, America,’ Mark Levin stated during the opening of his show. “Is it still America?”
Levin’s question came as The Wall Street Journal reported that Special Counsel Robert Mueller had impaneled a grand jury in Washington to further investigate Russia’s interference in the 2016 elections, suggesting “that his inquiry is growing in intensity and entering a new phase, according to people familiar with the matter.”
Below is a transcript of Levin’s remarks from his show Thursday:
“I said, ‘Hello, America.’ Is it still America?
“The Democrats pushed for a special counsel since day one, and they got it because the Deputy Attorney General of the United States, who’s a bureaucrat, had no guts whatsoever – no guts whatsoever. He buckled under the Democrat commands for a special counsel.
“The moment it happened I told you the consequences. I’ve dealt with special counsel (aka, special prosecutors) for years, and very few of them just go away.
“And it is a process that is un-American when it is abused the way this one has been abused.
“I’m not against special counsel in all cases, but in this case, there was no underlying criminal matter at all. This was a counterintelligence investigation.
“It has been explained over and over again by Andy McCarthy, by me, by others, a counterintelligence investigation is not a criminal investigation.
“We have abuses of law, abuses of our national security apparatus swirling all around us by the prior administration: the unmasking of American citizens innocent of any wrongdoing, the distribution of their names into the media; leaking information from the Obama people to members of the Hill who then leak it to CNN and other places; we have evidence of political domestic surveillance by the Obama administration against Trump world.
“And the special counsel is not investigating any of that.
“There’s no special counsel. There’s no grand jury.”
