Actor known for his starring roles in “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys” and “Andromeda” and more recently for his family-friendly, Christian films “Let There Be Light,” “God’s Not Dead” and “Christmas Dreams,” Kevin Sorbo, in an interview with said that he is focusing on “making more movies that are family-friendly.”

“I used to get stopped all the time because of ‘Hercules’ or ‘Andromeda,’” stated Kevin Sorbo. “I get stopped all the time now because of my movies like ‘What If,’ ‘God’s Not Dead,’ ‘Let There Be Light,’ ‘Soul Surfer,’ and people say, ‘Please make more movies like that.’ So, that’s what I’m doing. I’m making more movies that are family-friendly, movies that have characters that people can relate to and identify with.”

Sorbo’s comments came in an interview with after the Hercules actor expounded upon his prediction that anger surrounding the Christmas Holiday season would be worse this year. asked Kevin Sorbo about he and his wife, Sam Sorbo’s, new book “Share the Light” inspired by their film “Let There Be Light” and their attempts at projecting a fresh new narrative into the entertainment industry by creating family-friendly content.

“[T]he movie was co-written by my wife and Dan Gordon,” responded Sorbo. “We shot it last year. It was in theaters for three months, last November, December, January. It did very well. It’s called ‘Let There Be Light.’” In fact, the film was in the top 10 during its first three weeks.

The film did “so well” on DVD at Walmart, continued Sorbo, that “we’ve repackaged it with a devotional called ‘Share the Light’ that goes with the movie ‘Let There Be Light.’ So it’s at Walmart. Please go get it right now. It’s a great stocking-stuffer. It’s a great Christmas movie. And it’s a movie that’s got faith and hope and redemption and love – movies that a lot of things in Hollywood don’t want to have talking about.”

Later, Sorbo detailed an animated and live-action film, “Christmas Dreams,” “a wonderful children’s movie for Christmas” that is “The Little Drummer Boy” meets “The Nutcracker.”

“[A] lot of families are looking for things that they can watch together as a family,” continued Kevin Sorbo, “and this is another wonderful movie, so I hope people please go get it. They can go to the trailer, go on YouTube – you can see the trailer there for ‘Christmas Dreams’ – and please go check it out. Between that one and ‘Let There Be Light,’ you got a wonderful present to give to somebody.”
