Michigan Democratic State Rep. Cynthia Johnson was stripped of her committee assignments on Wednesday after threatening Trump supporters in a Facebook video.
In a Facebook video Tuesday, Johnson said, “So this is just a warning to you Trumpers. Be careful, walk lightly, we ain’t playing with you. Enough of the shenanigans. Enough is enough. And for those of you who are soldiers, you know how to do it. Do it right, be in order, make them pay.”
Johnson said she received death threats after she accused witnesses at a Michigan oversight hearing on election fraud of lying, The Independent reported on Monday.
Johnson posted audio clips of voicemails she received, including that of a woman who said Johnson had been “doxed” and her information was posted on the Internet.
The Daily Caller reports:
The Speaker of the Michigan House Lee Chatfield released a statement, explaining that Johnson had been removed from her committees and that there is an active investigation going on to determine if further action is necessary.
“Threats to Democrats or Republicans are unacceptable and un-American. They’re even more unbecoming of an elected official. Rep. CA Johnson has been stripped of her committees and we’re looking into further disciplinary action as the proper authorities conduct their investigation,” Chatfield said in a statement on Twitter.

Johnson posted another video on Facebook Wednesday asking “soldiers of Christ,” soldiers against racism, misogyny, domestic violence, and domestic terrorism, and “soldiers for black and brown people who are being mistreated” to “rise.”
“All you soldiers, soldiers of Christ, soldiers against racism, soldiers against misogyny, soldiers against domestic violence and domestic terrorism, rise. Soldiers, rise. It’s time for you to rise. Soldiers, soldiers for Christ. Soldiers against racism, soldiers against misogyny, soldiers for black and brown people who are being mistreated, rise,” she said.
Hours later, she posted the speaker’s statement announcing her removal from her committee assignments.
