Actress Thandie Newton stirred up controversy with her acceptance speech when she won an Emmy Monday night for outstanding supporting actress in a drama series for the show “Westworld.”
In her acceptance speech, she said she didn’t believe in God, then referred to God with a feminine pronoun.
“I don’t even believe in God, but I’m going to thank her tonight,” Newton said.
“I am so blessed. I am so blessed. Without this, I am even so f-ing blessed,” she said, then covered her mouth in embarrassment.
