When it comes to fencing along the U.S.-Mexico border, Dr. Ben Carson said he has been to the border, viewed miles of fencing and saw no border patrol agents in many places, adding that some of the fences are so easy to scale, it's almost like "not having a fence there."
"[A]long that border, we have miles and miles of fences," said Carson on the August 23 edition of CNN's State of the Union with Jake Tapper.   "I went there last week and didn't see any Border Patrol people."
"And those fences are so easy to scale," he said.   "It is almost like not having a fence there."
Commenting also on the use of drones for surveillance at the border, Carson said, "drones are excellent for surveillence."
Ben Carson is a retired neurosurgeon, book author and candidate for President of the United States.
