On his nationally syndicated radio talk show “The Mark Levin Show” on Friday, host Mark Levin said “The media is now part of a radical, progressive, social activist movement; they are not media.”

“To truly understand, and to put an umbrella over this, what’s taking place, you need to understand the media in ways you’ve never looked at it before or have understood it before because the media is now part of a radical, progressive, social activist movement; they’re not media,” stated Mark Levin. “They take advantage of the First Amendment and freedom of the press, but they’re not a free press; they are a propaganda mill.”

Mark Levin’s remarks came after media reaction to the Mueller testimony on Capitol Hill on Wednesday of last week.

Below is a transcript, in pertinent part, of Mark Levin’s remarks from his show on Wednesday:

“To truly understand, and to put an umbrella over this, what’s taking place, you need to understand the media in ways you’ve never looked at it before or have understood it before because the media is now part of a radical, progressive, social activist movement; they’re not media. They take advantage of the First Amendment and freedom of the press, but they’re not a free press; they are a propaganda mill. You can watch Chuck Todd, Jeffrey Toobin, Jake Tapper, Don Lemon, Chris Cuomo. As a matter of fact, they are very proud that many of them are pulled right out of the ranks of the Democrat Party or a liberal movement or a Democrat family.

“And so I want to take you back to John Dewey. John Dewey, one of the early progressive intellectuals, one of the most influential, he and Woodrow Wilson and a number of others that I discussed in my prior book. But I want to take you into ‘Unfreedom of the Press,’ right on page 31, to what John Dewey said. Listen to this. He is talking about education and by that what he means is indoctrination and propaganda through the press, through our schools. He says, ‘When I say that the first object of a renascent liberalism is education, I mean that its task is to aid in producing the habits of mind and character, the intellectual and moral patterns that are somewhere near, even with the actual movements of events’ – in other words, indoctrination. It is, I repeat, the split between the latter, as they have externally occurred, and the ways of desiring, the ways of thinking, the ways of putting emotion and purpose into execution, that is the basic cause of present confusion in mind and paralysis in action.’

“You see, about the same time our public education system changed, our government schools, the media changed – about the same time, slightly over 100 years ago.”
