Rep. Jim Himes (D-Conn.)

( While criticizing President Trump about his national emergency declaration to deal with the border crisis and help build a wall, Rep. Jim Himes (D-Conn.) listed “double bacon cheeseburgers,” and the “effects of climate change” as things that kill more people than illegal immigration.

“Huh. A National Emergency declaration....interesting precedent,” Rep. Himes tweeted on Feb. 14.

He then listed a number of things “killing many more Americans than illegal immigration,” which included “Drug overdoses,” “Gun violence,” “Double bacon cheeseburgers,” “Drunk driving,” and the “Effects of climate change.”

“Just sayin,’” Himes concluded his tweet.

In a ceremony on Friday, President Trump announced he signed a national emergency declaration to deal with the crisis at the southern border.
