Unlike Hillary or Kerry, the First Person Pompeo Thanked at Swearing-In Was God

When Mike Pompeo was sworn in as secretary of state on Wednesday, he did something neither Hillary Clinton or John Kerry did when sworn in: thank God.

“I want to first thank God for this opportunity. For the many blessings he has granted to me in my life,” Pompeo said in remarks after taking the oath of office:

Obama’s secretary of state appointees failed to credit God, Daily Caller research shows:

“The departure into religious territory during his swearing-in speech is a stark departure from the Obama-era appointees. Neither Hillary Clinton or John Kerry mentioned religion or their faith in their respective swearing-in speeches, according to transcripts.”
