A South Carolina man looking for a 3 A.M. meal took matters into his own hands when he found the staff asleep at his local Waffle House last Thursday.

After enjoying a few adult beverages with his friends, 36 year-old Alex Bowen says he was determined to have a cheesesteak, so he stepped behind the counter, ABC News reports:

“It was around 3 a.m. I was pretty inebriated.”

“That’s when I got hot on the grill with a Texas bacon cheesesteak melt.”

Bowen posted playful photos of his escapade on Facebook, cleaned up after himself, and even paid for his meal.

Waffle House told ABC News that, while customers shouldn’t do this, they were impressed with his cooking skills, and they might even have a job for him, either as chef or a secret shopper. “Obviously Alex has some cooking skills, and we’d like to talk to him about a job since we may have something for him," Waffle House said in a statement.
