A reporter verbally abused White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Thursday after she said that immigration law must be enforced.

Indignant that illegal immigrant children can be separated from their illegal immigrant families because of current immigration law, Sentinel newspapers Executive Editor Brian Karem began yelling at Sanders and refused to yield the floor after she answered his question and tried to move on.

"Come on, Sarah! You're a parent. You're a parent of young children. Don't you have any empathy for what they go through?" Karem repeatedly yelled at her.

Sanders gracefully endured the insults until the reporter finished venting.

UPDATE: In an interview with CNN later that day, Karem, a CNN contributor, defended his outburst and explained what what Sanders' "proper answer" to him would have been.
