Michigan Democrat Rep. Rashida Tlaib says the partial government shutdown "isn't about the wall" President Donald Trump wants funding to build. Instead, Democrats just "don't want to negotiate in these terms."

Rep. Tlaib made the revelation during an appearance on MSNBC on Wednesday:

“It's not about the wall. You can see that. This is the same bills that we passed before we took the majority in the House. These are the same exact bills Senator McConnell and many of his colleagues supported. We have bipartisan support. We sent them an appropriations bill that said we're going to open it for two weeks so the American workers that work for the federal government across this nation can actually get back up and running and get paid.

“We just don't want to negotiate in these terms. This is not the way to come in the good faith and work for the American people. I can tell you I went into McConnell's office with my colleagues. It's very clear they're hiding. This is not about a crisis. The only crisis we have is the crisis he created in shutting down our government.”
