“You don’t have a functioning First Amendment when only one side is allowed to talk,” Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) warned in an interview blasting the liberal Cancel Culture movement and Democrats’ “For the People Act” (H.R. 1).
“I think the biggest threat, frankly, is this Cancel Culture, radical left attempt to silence Americans, silence people they disagree with, and, frankly, just get rid of the First Amendment,” Rep. Jordan told Newsmax TV:
“You don’t have a functioning First Amendment when only one side is allowed to talk. You don’t have real free speech rights when the left controls who gets to say what and when. So, that to me, is ultimately the biggest threat to freedom.”
If it becomes law, H.R. 1 would create a world where liberals can lie, but conservatives can’t expose the lies, Rep. Jordan warned:
“They want to be able to lie about us, but we can’t tell the truth about them. That’s the world that House Bill One takes us to, and that’s what I think is the most frightening thing of all.”
“This won’t stop with conservatives,” Jordan said, noting that the “Cancel Culture mob” has already begun trying to cancel even famously liberal politicians:
“This won’t stop with conservatives. The target right now is conservatives and Republicans. But, the appetite of the Cancel Culture mob is never satisfied. They will go after everyone else, as well.”

“The San Francisco School Board said the Dianne Feinstein Elementary School will no longer be named after Senator Feinstein because, 37 years ago, she said something that the Woke Mob doesn’t like.
“That is frightening. If liberal icon Senator Feinstein’s not good enough for them, who the heck is? And, who is next?”
