After citing a study documenting the harmful consequences and virtual ineffectiveness of Democrats’ COVID lockdown orders, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) said there’s one thing that’s the “most consistent” about the pandemic.

“The most consistent thing about #COVID19? Democrats implementing rules and then breaking them,” Rep. Jordan tweeted Thursday, referring to the multiple times Democrat politicians have been caught on camera violating their own COVID mandates, such as those requiring citizens to wear masks.

In his previous tweet, Rep. Jordan listed ways Americans have suffered due to Democrats’ COVID lockdown restrictions:

“They closed businesses.

“Fired employees.

“Kept your kids out of classrooms.

“Shut the doors to your church.

“And canceled funerals and weddings.”

In that same post, Jordan linked to a Fox News report detailing the results of a study by John Hopkins University finding that mandated lockdowns of America’s businesses and citizens did virtually nothing to reduce the number of COVID-19 deaths – while inflicting significant societal harm in the process:

“Lockdowns during the first COVID-19 wave in the spring of 2020 only reduced COVID-19 mortality by .2% in the U.S. and Europe, according to a Johns Hopkins University meta-analysis of several studies.”

“Researchers also pointed out other unintended consequences of lockdowns, such as rising unemployment, reduced schooling, an increase in domestic violence incidents, and surging drug overdoses.

“From May 2020 to April 2021, the U.S. recorded 100,306 drug overdose deaths, a 28.5% increase from the 78,056 deaths that were recorded in the previous 12-month period, according to CDC data.”
