Tennessee Titans wide receiver Rishard Matthews ran into the stadium tunnel and stayed there during the National Anthem at Monday night’s National Football League (NFL) game against the Baltimore Colts.

In a Tweet last week, Matthews declared that he would quit football if the league changed its rules and forced players to stand in respect during the playing of the National Anthem before games. The league is scheduled to meet Tuesday and discuss what to do about players' protests during the Anthem.

Matthews has since called the Tweet a “bad decision” – one that could have proved extremely costly, since he is currently in the second year of a $15 million, three-year contract with the team.

In the video below, The Tennessean captured Matthews running into the tunnel.
