Netflix has cancelled comedian Michelle Wolf’s scandalous series - which had outraged pro-life Americans and subscribers - after just one season.
The cancellation of "The Break with Michelle Wolf" was reported on Twitter Sunday by the The Hollywood Reporter:
Before her show debuted, Wolf promised viewers they should “expect the types of jokes my former bosses would tell me we couldn’t do on TV.”
One of those “jokes” was a star-spangled “Salute to Abortion” on her program last month, which outraged many Netflix subscribers and drew nationwide criticism, as CNSNews.com reported at the time:
Wolf closed by marching out on stage in a majorette’s costume, accompanied by a drum corps, and a huge banner reading, “The Break’s 10th Annual Salute to Abortion.” She then threw confetti after each of the following declarations:
“Abortion, I salute you!
“Women, if you need an abortion, get one!
“If you want an abortion, get one!
“If you’re not pregnant but you think you eventually might be and want to order a future abortion, get one!
“If you’re pregnant and you want to be pregnant, don’t get one!
"God bless abortion!"
Wolf also made national headlines and sparked outrage as this year’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner host, when she personally attacked White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who was in the audience.
In the end, though, Wolf's shock-and-offend theatrics failed to draw, and maintain, enough audience to justify a second season.
