“It’s your duty to uphold the Constitution…not aid and abet” Democrats’ unconstitutional impeachment efforts, Constitutional scholar and conservative commentator Mark Levin told five Republican senators threatening to support Democrats’ demands for witnesses in the Senate impeachment trial.
Appearing on Fox News’ “Hannity” Thursday, Levin directly addressed five Senate Republicans:
- Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah)
- Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine)
- Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska)
- Sen. Cory Gardner (R-Colorado)
- Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN)
Levin said Democrats are destroying the Constitution – and that these five senators have a duty to put an end to Democrats' disgraceful impeachment efforts and demands for additional witnesses that it was the House’s job to call:
“Now, something funny about these two articles of impeachment: there’s no Constitutional violation, there’s no statutory violation, there’s no violation of a federal court order. This is why they keep throwing up smoke.
“And, I want to tell these five Republicans in the Senate – the weak links in the chain – Romney, Collins, Murkowski, Gardner…Alexander. Let me tell you something: you have a duty to uphold the Constitution. What the House of Representatives has done here is destroy the Constitution.
“It’s your job to fix it. It’s your job to stop them – not aid and abet, by calling witnesses that the Democrats want.
“No! No witnesses! This should be dismissed; this is a disgrace!
“If Donald Trump Broke the Law, then So Did Joe Biden,” Levin said, referencing the threat Biden made as vice president to withhold Congressionally-authorized funds if the Ukraine didn’t fire a prosecutor investigating a company employing his son, Hunter.
