The unborn need to be treated like what they are – human beings – former governor and political commentator Mike Huckabee declared Friday.

In an interview with Fox News, Huckabee said that that unborn babies need to be afforded the 5th and 14th Amendment rights of other children:

“These are human beings, they’re babies. They have a heartbeat. They have brainwaves. They may be in the womb, but they’re humans. And they need to be treated that way.”

Specifically, the unborn deserve the legal protection of “due process” before they’re put to death, Huckabee said:

“They need to have due process before they’re unceremoniously put to death with a form of abortion.

“Which, by the way – the abortion proponents call this ‘health care.’ There’s nothing healthy for the baby when it’s murdered.”

“This is an outrage; it’s an embarrassment; it’s genocide. It’s time to stop it.”
