“The woke left has gone a bean too far,” Political commentator Geraldo Rivera declared after liberals called for a boycott of Goya Foods because its CEO, Robert Unanue, dared to publicly praise President Donald Trump last week.

On Monday, Rivera took to Twitter to voice his love for Goya’s rice and beans – and his contempt for “the thought police”:

#BuyGoya beat woke brigade's obnoxious attempt to boycott company because its CEO praised @realDonaldTrump at a White House ceremony celebrating companies like Goya for its enterprise & positive impact on Hispanic community. Love my Goya rice and beans. Detest the thought police.”

In America, Unanue has just as much right to praise Pres. Trump as members of “the intolerant woke brigade” have to criticize him, Rivera wrote in his next tweet:

“#BuyGoya fight back vs the intolerant woke brigade. Folks like the #GoyaCEO have the right to praise @realDonaldTrump in the same way you have the right to criticize him or anyone else. This is America. Olé”

Rivera also closed his Monday Twitter video by encouraging his audience to buy food from Goya – and to donate the purchases to a food bank:

“The woke left has gone a bean too far - buy Goya. That’s what we should all do. Buy Goya. They’re trying to boycott Goya – we should be buying Goya. Buy it and donate it to the food bank. Thank you.”

Conservatives’ movement to support Goya and its CEO’s freedom of speech has been dubbed a “Buy-cott,” which has gained the support of notable conservatives such as Constitutional Scholar Mark Levin and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.).
