While explaining how Friday’s strong jobs report and the ensuing stock market surge is good for everyone, not just business owners, political commentator Geraldo Rivera said that liberals’ plan to defund police departments threatens to harm vulnerable communities.
“Short term, no civil right is as potent as a well-paying job,” Rivera tweeted Friday after the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that a one-month record of 2.5 million jobs were added last month, prompting a stock market boom.
“PS this plan by progressives to #DefundThePolice=a sick threat by effete punks that threatens vulnerable communities,” Rivera interjected:
“Whether you own stocks cheer on market because when companies are fully funded then jobs get created & short-term no civil right is as potent as a well-paying job. PS this plan by progressives to #DefundThePolice=a sick threat by effete punks that threatens vulnerable communities”
“Bravo,” Rivera praised Trump is a separate post, adding that, despite their determination to construe everything the president has done as cynically as possible, they can now “Eat crow”:
“Bravo @realDonaldTrump Critics have excoriated him construing everything he's done or said during these tough times in the most evil way possible-denigrating his efforts to combat anarchy-suppressing news the #RussiaHoax is unraveling & exacerbating unrest-Now eat crow-He's back”
Liberals' call to defund the police comes as looters and rioters mixed in with peaceful protesters continue to ravage the nation.
