Billionaire Elon Musk is not a fan of “Straw Wars,” and he’s taken to Twitter to protest bans on the useful tool for consuming liquids.

“Stop the war on straws!” Musk tweeted Thursday night, including a picture of a lidded, plastic cup filled with cold brew coffee.

“How did it even start?” he wondered in a follow-up in his thread.

Early Friday morning, around 4:30 a.m., Musk came to a conclusion: “The straw war is emblematic of larger social issues”

A number of states have banned plastic straws, in the name of environmental concerns.

In 2020, Starbucks replaced straws for cold beverages with sip-able lids and, earlier this year, announced plans to remove all single-use cups by 2025.
