Devin Nunes: 2016 Taught Democrats that ‘It’s Not Enough to Just Have 90% of the Media on Your Side’

Liberals have learned they can’t win elections just by dictating 90% of the news media narrative; they also need to “funnel” the information Americans are allowed to see on social media, Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) said Wednesday.

Discussing Google’s NBC-inspired push to ban the ads of conservative media organizations The Federalist and ZeroHedge, Rep. Nunes told Fox News that the 2016 election taught Democrats and liberals that they need to censor the content on social media platforms.

The censorship of conservative voices and the information the American people receive is the most important issue facing the nation today, Rep. Nunes said:

“This is the story of the last three years. Ever since the 2016 election, the Democrats and left learned it’s not enough to just have 90% of the media on your side. You also have to run it through a funnel and that funnel is Facebook, Google and Twitter. They have to control that; it started right after 2016 election. They said, ‘Oh, it is fake news is the reason why Trump won.’

“So, there is not a more important issue than this issue. The American people are being censored. Conservatives are being censored. The information that is flowing to the American people is being censored. It is just the bottom line.”

Rep. Nunes called liberal social media censorship of conservatives “the most important issue that we have headed to the next election” – because, “It is very difficult for Republicans to win if this censoring continues.”
