Politicians are unlikely to require that every person in the U.S. get tested for COVID-19 before reopening the economy, so they should “stop wasting our time pretending” that, if they do, it would vanquish the pandemic, conservative commentator and Blexit leader Candace Owens says.
In a video she posted on Twitter, Owens warns of the “slippery slope” of government-mandated testing. For example, she asks, what if the government passes a law requiring businesses to test every new-hire or current employee for coronavirus?
Owens says she won’t do it:
“As a small business owner myself with employees, I will not be making my employees submit to any tests to have to work with me. If they would like to go get a COVID-19 test, they can. If they don’t want to get a COVID-19, they don’t have to. I’m one of those people that believes in the old school, ‘If you’re sick, stay home. If you’re not sick, come to work.’”
“All of this is crazy. All of this is ludicrous. The government is getting crazier and crazier every single day. The Democrats are going nuts; the media’s not asking important questions,” Owens concludes, calling on politicians to either put up or shut and let Americans get back to work:
“Do I expect that the government is going to, when I have the flu, tell me that I have to then get a passport saying that I no longer have the flu or any of the antibodies in my system? No.
“So, all of this is crazy. All of this is ludicrous. The government is getting crazier and crazier every single day. The Democrats are going nuts; the media’s not asking important questions.
“I mean, I’ve been using my feed to ask common-sense questions. That’s a common-sense question: “Is it going to be compulsory?’ And, if, not, stop wasting our time pretending that more testing kits, somehow, means that we’re going to be able to get this thing under control.”
“If you’re not going to mandate it - and I don’t think you are - you’re wasting our time. It’s time to let Americans get back to work.”
