Declaring President Donald Trump “the most dangerous president” in modern history, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) unleashed a name-calling tirade against the president on Tuesday.

Appearing on CNN, Sanders was asked whether his presidential bid will more focused on distinguishing himself from fellow Democrat candidate Joe Biden or President Trump. In response, Sen. Sanders said he plans to contrast himself with both Biden and Trump, then launched into his attack on Trump:

"Well, I think, both, to be honest with you. Look, in my view, Donald Trump is the most dangerous president in the modern history of this country. He’s a pathological liar. He’s a racist, a sexist, a homophobe, a xenophobe.”

Sanders added that he will do everything in his power to defeat Trump, regardless of who wins the Democrat nomination:

“This is somebody who should not be president. I will do everything I can, if I’m the Democratic nominee to defeat him and I will support if I lose somebody else, whether it's Joe, whether it's somebody else. We’re going to defeat Donald Trump.”
