CNN host Jake Tapper said in an appearance on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” on Tuesday that Joe Biden will become president of the United States on January 20. “Period.”

“Joe Biden will be sworn in on January 20th, 2021. Period,” Tapper said.

“We’ll see. We’ll see,” responded Colbert.

“No,” said Tapper. “There’s no ‘we’ll see.’”

“No. There’s a lot of court cases out there, Jake,” Colbert responded.

“I looked into a bunch of them, you know,” said Tapper.

“Oh, really,” said Colbert.

“And, like, they’re nonsense,” said Tapper. “Like, it’s honestly, because the standard of evidence in a courtroom is a little higher than on Twitter.”

Here is a transcript of the section of Colbert’s show where Jake Tapper announced that “Joe Biden will be sworn in on January 20. Period:”
