A survey of 3,615 American adults that was conducted by Gallup from June 29 through July 5 discovered that 27 percent of Republicans say they never wear a mask outside their home while only 1 percent of Democrats say that.
Gallup asked people: “How often do you wear a mask outside your home.”
Of the subgroups whose responses Gallup published, the largest percentage who said they “never” did was the 27 percent of people who identified themselves as Republicans who gave that answer.
The second largest group was people who live in the Midwest—with 23 percent of people who live in that region of the country saying they never wear a mask.
The third largest group was men—with 20 percent of that sex saying they never wear a mask.
The group that had the smallest percentage say that the “never” wear a mask was Democrats. Only 1 percent of respondents who identified as a Democrat said they never wear a mask.
