Singer Bette Midler sent out a tweet late on Sunday that forwarded a tweet by “Room Rater” that featured an animated cartoon of the statue of Abraham Lincoln in the Lincoln Memorial seemingly flipping off President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.
‘I don’t know what @ratemyskyperoom thinks, but I’m with Abe!!” Midler said in her tweet.
“Room Rater” is a twitter account that rates the rooms that well-known people are in when they do television interviews online from their homes. Room Rater, reports Slate, “collects a bunch of living rooms and home offces in one place and makes a snap judgement about each one.”
“For instance,” reported Slate, “it pronounced former chairman of Starbucks Howard Schultz’s backdrop ‘Ikea-ish. It found Stacey Abrams’ space wanting. Actor Mandy Patinkin’s background, meanwhile, was praised for its light and depth.”
On Sunday, when Trump appeared on a virtual townhall on Fox News, televised from the Lincoln Memorial, Trump critic Bill Kristol sent out a tweet with a screen capture of Trump doing the townhall while sitting in front of the statue of the seated Abe Lincoln in the memorial. He asked: “Thoughts, @ratemyskyperson?”
Room Rater then sent out a tweet that appeared to show President Trump and the First Lady standing in the Memorial, looking at Lincoln—with Lincoln, in animation, flipping his middle fingers back at the Trumps.
Bette Midler then sent out the Room Rater tweet—with her observation that she is “with Abe.”
The image of Donald and Melania Trump in the animated cartoon tweeted out by Room Rater is similar to a photo taken of them on Jan. 19, 2017, the night before Trump was inaugurated.
