On his nationally syndicated radio show Thursday, host Mark Levin blasted the media, saying, the “media have abandoned a pretense of seeking objectivity for ideological activism.”
“[T]he media has abandoned the pretense of seeking objectivity for ideological activism,” stated Mark Levin. “The media are not promoting freedom. They’re not promoting constitutionalism, capitalism, Americanism generally. They’re promoting statist progressivism and their political and intellectual advocates.”
Below is a transcript of Mark Levin’s remarks on his show Thursday:
“The media keep reporting on the media. Have you noticed that? The media keep reporting about themselves, and CNN keeps reporting about Fox and Hannity, and the media keep talking about how the media feel like the media are under attack. You know, the media, generally speaking—there are exceptions, but there exceptions to everything—the media, generally speaking, they’re commentators.
“They trash Trump supporters. Before that they trashed the Tea Party. They trash politicians, other types of public officials, intellectuals and so forth who are supported by conservatives. They trash Sarah Plain; they trash Clarence Thomas; they trash Robert Bork; they trash Ronald Reagan.
“So there’s a terrible pattern of this over the last half century, and it’s only intensified. It’s intensified right before, during, and after the election of Donald Trump. Now it’s fairly routine for media personalities, and that’s what they’ve become—Jim Acosta’s not a reporter. He’s a media personality now. But they accuse the millions and millions of people who voted for Donald Trump as being cultists, Nazis, toothless, deranged, deplorables, racist and on and on and on. They do this constantly and repeatedly.
“The media, again, there are exceptions, but as rule now the media have abandoned a pretense of seeking objectivity for ideological activism, progressivism, while insisting to represent a free press and indeed defend it.
“They’re devouring what they self-servingly claim to defend, and the effort is so ubiquitous and the drumbeat daily that the bastardization of the entire enterprise is obvious because you can’t miss it if you watch TV or if you read newspapers or the equivalent, websites.
“The media are not promoting freedom. They’re not promoting constitutionalism, capitalism, Americanism generally. They’re promoting statist progressivism and their political and intellectual advocates, and were noticing.”
