On his nationally syndicated radio program on Monday, Mark Levin denounced those who leaked information leading to National Security Adviser General Mike Flynn’s resignation, saying they “clearly violated federal law.”
“They just took out one of the top guys,” said Mark Levin. “And they leaked a twisted or a mischaracterized version of his discussion with the Russian foreign policy official. They clearly violated federal law in doing exactly what they did.”
Levin made these remarks as he was reading from a Washington Free Beacon article that cites high-level sources who claim that Obama loyalists and former officials repeatedly leaked sensitive information in an effort to discredit General Flynn and force his resignation.
Below is a transcript of Levin’s comments from the show:
“I have been saying this day after day, week after week, that they’re trying to pick them off one at a time. Andd they’re too damn foolish and stubborn to get it.
“And they’re out there, ‘Well, the president’s lost trust in Flynn.’
“And the Obama people are laughing, the Islamo-nazis in Tehran are laughing, all the dug-in, paper-pusher bureaucrats in these departments and agencies are laughing.
“They just took out one of the top guys. And they leaked a twisted or a mischaracterized version of his discussion with the Russian foreign policy official. They clearly violated federal law in doing exactly what they did.
“I’ll tell you what.
“‘One senior White House official told the Free Beacon that leaks targeting the former official were “not the result of a series of random events.”
“‘“The drumbeat of leaks of sensitive material related to General Flynn has been building since he was named to his position,” [the official said], who is a member of the [White House National Security Council]. “Last night was not the result of a series of random events. The president has lost a valuable advisor and we need to make sure this sort of thing doesn’t happen again.”’
“So this is cloak and dagger time – cloak and dagger time.”
