( - Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.), commenting on the Mueller report the day before its release, said it shouldn't take long "to get a pretty good idea" of what's in that 400-page report.

"Are there going to be things in there that may not be pleasant to Donald Trump? I think he'd be the first to admit, he's not a saint. But he has not committed any crimes. He's worked hard for the U.S.," King told Fox News on Wednesday.

"And what they're going to find, I think, probably on the -- there's going to probably be extraneous comments in there about things he said, or might have said -- something some staff person might have said. But (that's) something that goes on in everyday life for everyone.

"If any of us was under a two year microscope, none of us would come out looking like a saint. But he will come out, I believe, looking like a patriot."

King said it shouldn't take long to get the gist of the Mueller report.

"All of us know what the parameters are," King said. "I know there will be no evidence at all of any collusion. And when Democrats say not enough to show a criminal case, no -- nothing at all as far as collusion.

"As far as obstruction of justice, I think probably there will be elements in there -- like was firing Jim Comey obstruction of justice, was criticizing the Mueller investigation obstruction of justice? I would say absolutely not. I think the Democrats are going to try to hang their hat on some of those allegations.

And then, whatever it is, any word that's redacted or blacked out, they're going to say that's where the conspiracy was," King warned. "And yet the attorney general has obligations, obviously, to make redactions. So I think what we can expect is no matter what is redacted they're going to say that's the evidence of conspiracy and the attorney general is covering up."

King praised Attorney General William Barr as a "solid" lawyer with an "unimpeachable reputation."

"So I think this is going to blow up in the Democrats' face if they try to make more of it," King added.

Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) told Fox News's Laura Ingraham Tuesday night that top congressional leaders may be able see some of what is redacted in the Mueller report.

But he warned of leaks from politicians unfriendly to Donald Trump: "And I hope that we don't have that problem. I hope that we don't have an issue where there is redactions where you have people leaking, oh this is what the redactions really mean," Nunes said.

"Whatever happens on Thursday, Donald Trump is a free man," Nunes continued. "There is no evidence whatsoever of collusion. They tried to frame him on obstruction of justice, and they didn't get him on that either, even though they tried to frame him.

“So this thing’s over on Thursday for the American people, but the Democrats in Congress are going to continue to try to investigate, and my guess is that their friends in the media will play a part in it."
