( - House Democrats are having trouble agreeing on the wording of a resolution condemning anti-Semitism, following Rep. Ilhan Omar's various insulting comments about Israel and Jews.

Today (Thursday), press reports said the final text of the resolution will be released shortly, and a vote may happen today.

At her Thursday news conference, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said a resolution condemning anti-Semitism will be "enlarged" to cover other forms of hatred, and it will not mention Omar's name, "because it's not about her. It's about these forms of hatred."

Pelosi also said she doesn't think Omar understood the "full weight of her words."

"After I spoke to her, members had different tacks they wanted to take. Some wanted individual statements. Some thinking we should have a resolution.

"I thought the resolution should be -- enlarge the issue to anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, et cetera, anti-white supremacist, and that it should not mention her name. And that's what we are working on, something that's one resolution addressing these forms of hatred -- not mentioning her name, because it's not about her. It's about these forms of hatred."

Pelosi said it's up to Omar to "explain" herself. She has not apologized.

"But I don't believe that she understood the full weight of her words," Pelosi said, as she differentiated members of Congress from outside "advocates."

"So I understand how advocates come in (to Congress) with their enthusiasm, but when you cross that threshold in the Congress, your words weigh much more than when you are shouting at somebody outside.

"And I feel confident that her words were not based on any anti-Semitic attitude, but she didn't have a full appreciation on how they landed on other people, where these words have a history and cultural impact that may have been unknown to her."
