(CNSNews.com) -House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) sent a “Dear Colleague letter” to her House Democrats—not House Republicans—on Thanksgiving Day in which she gave thanks to God.
“Each year on Thanksgiving, we pause to cherish the many blessings that God has bestowed upon us and upon our nation,” Pelosi told her Democratic colleagues.
“On this all-American holiday, we break bread with family and friends and spend time in our communities,” she said.
“Personally, I am endlessly grateful for all of life’s blessings: for my dear husband Paul and for our beautiful family,” said Pelosi.

“Dear Democratic Colleague,
“Each year on Thanksgiving, we pause to cherish the many blessings that God has bestowed upon us and upon our nation. On this all-American holiday, we break bread with family and friends and spend time in our communities.
“Personally, I am endlessly grateful for all of life’s blessings: for my dear husband Paul and for our beautiful family. I want to thank each Member who has sent a personal message of prayers and warm wishes for Paul’s recovery. And I am grateful to the people of San Francisco, who have entrusted me with the privilege of being their voice in Congress.
“Officially, I am grateful to you, my Democratic colleagues. Thanks to your courage, commitment and patriotism, our Caucus has forged extraordinary progress for working families during this Congress. Millions of families will save up to $2,800 per year on health insurance. Seniors will not pay one cent more than $2,000 per year for prescription drugs. Parents will commute to better jobs, as their children enjoy cleaner air and water: parents earning, children learning. More families in rural communities will get connected to the internet, and more veterans will finally get benefits they have earned. We have stronger tools to help keep guns out of dangerous hands. America is on a path to a clean, independent energy future.
“When we return to Washington, the House will embark on a busy and ambitious legislative session. Let us savor and draw strength from this time at home with our loved ones as we prepare to meet the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. And let us be unified as a Caucus, as we prepare for the future.
“Thank you for your ongoing leadership For The Children — and best wishes to you and your family for a joyful, peaceful Thanksgiving.
