(CNS News) -- In his speech on Saturday at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) criticized the Biden administration's "mismanagement" of myriad important issues, including U.S. energy, Afghanistan, and inflation. He also remarked that the thousands of soldiers buried at Arlington Cemetery represent why Americans should stand up for the National Anthem.

"I believe that Arlington National Cemetery -- have you been?  If you haven't, go.  If you've been, go twice, go again," said Kennedy.

"I believe that Arlington National Cemetery contains 400,000 reasons why you should stand your ass up for the National Anthem!" said the senator.

That comment prompted a standing ovation and chants of "USA! USA!" from the CPAC crowd.

In reference to the Washington elites who look down on conservatives (and Americans in general), Kennedy said, "You can't fix stupid, but you can vote it out."
