(CNS News) -- Apparently in response to President Joe Biden stating there would be “consequences” for Saudi Arabia -- because it sided with Russia to cut oil production  -- Saudi Prince Saud al-Shaalan, who is related to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, said no one threatens the Kingdom and that Saudis are, “products of Jihad and martyrdom."

On Oct. 11, Biden spoke with CNN’s Jake Tapper, who asked the president if the U.S. should reconsider its relationship with Saudi Arabia. Biden replied, “But we should, we should. And I am in the process, when the -- this House and Senate gets back, they're going to have to --there's going to be some consequences for what they've done with Russia.”

Then, on Oct. 15, 2022, in a TikTok video shared on Twitter, Saudi Prince Saud al-Shaalan said, “Anybody that challenges the existence of this country and this kingdom, all of us, we are products of jihad and martyrdom. That’s my message to anybody that thinks that he can threaten us.”

Concerning U.S. relations with Saudi Arabia, Senator Bernie Sanders (I- Vt.) in a recent interview said, “Look, you have a monarchy, treats women as third class citizens, torture people, they killed Khashoggi, dismembered his body, and now they are siding with Putin or in the war in Ukraine, and are forcing Americans, and people all over the world to pay higher gas prices. So, you know, this is a regime, to tell you the truth, I have never been fond of. And I think the president is moving in the right direction.”

Senator Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) tweeted, “Is there even a single U.S. ally left that Joe Biden hasn’t tried to bully for his own political gain?”

Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) tweeted, “Joe Biden destroyed American energy. Now he wants to punish Saudi Arabia for not going along with his war on energy.”
