(CNSNews.com) – People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is using an online videogame to promote its animal rights agenda.
The game, called “Cooking Mama: Mama Kills Animals,” is described as a Thanksgiving-themed parody of a Nintendo cooking game.
“Mama is evil and thirsty for blood,” says the introduction to the game. “Play now and see if you’re meaner than mama!”
Players are asked to prepare a turkey by removing its feathers and internal organs. Each mouse click removing the bird’s feathers and organs produces dripping blood.
Players are labeled “too nice,” if they fail to strip the turkey quickly enough. The goal is to be “meaner” than the knife-wielding “mama.”
The animated videogame follows PETA’s two-month investigation of turkey “factory farms,” which found “unimaginable cruelty,” the group says.
The U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance, a hunter advocacy group, says PETA's videogame is a “virtual gore fest.” It continues PETA’s “long tradition of going over the top” to advance its “radical animal rights agenda.”
“Given the attention the game has already gotten, an unnamed PETA spokesperson has been quoted on numerous websites pledging that the organization will be following this game up with new titles,” the Alliance noted.
