Actress Jennifer Lawrence: 'It Should Be Illegal to Call Somebody Fat on TV'
There are a lot of things out there that people want to ban. Feminists want to ban pornography. Prohibitionists (yes, they still exist) want to ban alcohol, and actress Jennifer Lawrence wants to ban people from calling each other fat on television.
In an ABC interview with Barbara "Wa-Wa" Walters scheduled to air tonight, the Oscar-winning actress says, "It should be illegal to call somebody fat on TV."
"I mean if we're regulating cigarettes and sex and cuss words because of the effect it has on the younger generation, why aren't we regulating things, like calling people fat," Lawrence added.
And, this isn't the first time Lawrence has chided the media about its weighty expectations.
Last November, Lawrence did a Q&A with Yahoo! employees and said that the media "fuels that fire" of unrealistic expectations for women concerning body images (20 minutes in).
"I love to eat," the "Hunger Games" star declared.
