Twentynine Palms Marine killed, 4 hurt in training
TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif. (AP) — A Marine has been killed and four others injured in a training accident at the Twentynine Palms base in Southern California.
The accident occurred shortly before 11:20 a.m. Monday at the Air Ground Combat Center in the desert about 130 miles east of Los Angeles.
A Marine statement says one of the injured is hospitalized and his condition was described only as stable. The other three were treated and released.
The accident is under investigation and no details have been released. The names of the victims also are being withheld pending notification of relatives.
