LOS ANGELES (AP) — The English teacher of a gay student who was shot by a classmate says she told him to stop wearing makeup, but that he didn't back down and escalated the classroom disruption.

The Ventura County Star (http://bit.ly/qrKCDb) says Jill Ekman testified Wednesday that 15-year-old Larry King wore even more makeup after she told him to stop drawing attention to himself. She said boys complained to her that King was chasing them into the bathroom. When she told King that it was inappropriate behavior, she said he laughed it off.

Her testimony came after the half-brother of Brandon McInerney, who's on trial for the 2008 shooting death at E.O Green School in Oxnard, told the jury that his half-brother was sexually abused.

McInerney is charged with first-degree murder and a hate crime.
