(CNSNews.com) - At the lighting ceremony for the Capitol Christmas Tree on Tuesday, Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) said that Jesus Christ had a right to life from the moment of conception, and that his belief has influenced his voting record.
CNSNews.com asked “In this Christmas season, do you believe that Jesus Christ had a right to life from the moment of his conception?”
“That’s the way I always voted in the United States Senate. I think, it’s Christmas it’s a Christmas tree, not a holiday tree. So those are my beliefs, that’s how I was raised and that’s how I raise my children,” Barrasso replied.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and the congressional delegation for Wyoming led the event on the West Lawn of the Capitol, joined by many members of Congress.
