(CNSNews.com) - The Republican National Committee says it’s only a matter of time before Sen. Joe Biden (D-Del.) makes another verbal slip, and when it happens, the RNC plans to update the “Biden gaffe clock” it has posted on its Web site.
The RNC noted that just 12 hours after being chosen as Barack Obama’s running mate, Biden made his first gaffe -- introducing Sen. Barack Obama as “Barack America.”
The moment -- 3:31 p.m. EDT on Saturday -- was captured on YouTube.
Biden, introducing Obama at a rally in Springfield, Ill., told the crowd, “This election year the choice is clear: One man stands ready to deliver change we desperately need. A man I’m proud to call my friend, a man who will be the next president of the United States -- Barack Amer (ica).” The crowd was cheering before Biden got the full word “America” out of his mouth.
The RNC says its new clock “will count the hours, minutes and seconds until Biden’s next slip-up on the campaign trail.”
Obama also misspoke on Saturday as he introduced his running mate: "So let me introduce to you the next president -- the next vice president of the U.S. of America, Joe Biden," he immediately corrected himself.
For the record, a number of people commenting on the YouTube video said Biden’s verbal gaffe was no big deal.
”You want about 10000000 more like this or worse? Look up ‘Bushisms,’” one person wrote.
