Police in Ga. search for missing mother, infant
AUSTELL, Ga. (AP) — Police in Georgia are searching for a woman and her newborn baby, both of whom have not been seen since Saturday afternoon.
Cobb County Police Sgt. Dana Pierce said Sunday that 27-year-old Holly Daenette Parker-Heard and the infant were last seen at the Austell Inn and Suites.
Pierce says investigators believe the woman gave birth inside the hotel room Saturday. Fresh blood apparently from the birth was found on bedsheets and the mattress, which led hotel workers to call police. However, there were no signs of foul play.
The primary concern for police is that the woman and her baby have not gotten proper medical care since the child was born. Pierce says it is not clear who may have been with Parker-Heard at the hotel.
