Obama on 'The View' 2010: ‘We Shouldn’t Be Campaigning All the Time’

(CNSNews.com) -- The last time President Barack Obama appeared on ABC's "The View" prior to the appearance he will make today with First Lady Michelle Obama, he complained that “we shouldn’t be campaigning all the time.”

“I volunteered for this job, and politics is not bean bag. Politics is a contact sport and you expect people going at you,” Obama told The View’s co-hosts in a July 28, 2010 appearance on the program.

“The one thing that does frustrate me sometimes is the sense that we shouldn’t be campaigning all the time," he said. "You know, there’s a time to campaign, and then there’s a time to govern. And what we’ve tried to do over the last 20 months is to govern.”

The president and first lady’s appearance on The View for Tuesday was taped today, Sept. 24.
