Arlington, Va. (AP) - President Barack Obama is making an unscheduled stop at Arlington National Cemetery to honor the last American World War I veteran.

Obama and Vice President Joe Biden were paying respects for Frank Buckles, whose body was lying in honor inside the chapel at the Arlington National Cemetery amphitheater.

Buckles will be buried with full military honors at Arlington later Tuesday.

Buckles served in France after lying about his age to join the Army at 16. He died last month at his Charles Town, W.Va., home at age 110.
