Washington (AP) - President Barack Obama starts the week dealing with three major issues -- a Supreme Court nomination, the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and Afghanistan.
Obama is set on Monday morning to announce his nomination of Solicitor General Elena Kagan to the Supreme Court.
Obama meets in the afternoon with top advisers to discuss efforts to contain the BP oil spill.
And some top aides and a military leader will talk with the president about Afghanistan, also in the afternoon. Obama meets later in the week with Afghan leader Hamid Karzai, who's visiting Washington.
